FAQ

We understand that joining a youth football program can bring up many questions for both new and returning families. This comprehensive FAQ section is designed to address common inquiries about our program, covering everything from registration procedures and equipment requirements to practice schedules and game-day expectations.

We’ve compiled these questions based on feedback from parents, players, and coaches to provide you with clear, concise information about the AV Rams experience. If you can’t find the answer you’re looking for, don’t hesitate to reach out to our coaching staff or administrative team.

We’re here to ensure that you have all the information you need to make your child’s participation in AV Rams Youth Football a positive and rewarding experience.

A: Any boy or girl that will be at least 5 years old on October 31st. Any boy or girl that is no older than 14 years on October 31 is also eligible to play. 

A: All football players and cheerleaders are required to have a physical before they can participate. The physical form needs to be completed by a parent or guardian and turned in to the Athletic Director before the start of official practice.

A: Football players need to provide a protective cup or compression shorts, mouth-guard and cleats. Integrated practice pants are recommended. The league supplies shoulder pads, helmets, game day pants, game day jerseys and game day socks. All supplied football equipment must be returned immediately after the season to avoid deposit check being cashed.

A: Registration fees cover many different expenses in youth football, 2 game jerseys and 1 practice jersey, rental of practice pants, game pants, certified helmet and shoulder pads.

Fees also include insurance, league fees, field fees, officials fees, light fees, and the cost of maintaining and purchasing protective gear. 

A: AV Rams has a no-refund policy. The only exception is a documented medical condition.

A: Football players are placed in divisions according to their age.

A: There is no minimum play rule in SJVYFL.
